Meet the The Tangled Fiber Family
Hello and welcome! The Tangled Fiber is a family owned and operated small business run by Sarah and Hayley Martin, a mother and daughter who share a love and passion for art, crafting and creativity. This shared passion has taken us down many different paths through the years. For 12 years we managed our own location of our family’s fabric shops, and we have had our products in local shops in our hometown of Jefferson, North Carolina. We are excited to now be starting this new business and journey together! We have both been crafting from early childhood and we can’t imagine doing anything else! Through our website and business, we want to connect with our customers and share our thoughtfully handmade and one-of-a-kind items. Our hope is that by sharing our story and the joy we have in doing what we love, we can inspire and encourage others to do the same and purse their passions! We are looking forward to growing and learning and we are happy to have you here with us!

I’m Hayley, I am a single mom to a beautiful daughter, college student majoring in design, and co-owner of The Tangled Fiber! I do all of our sewing and make all of our hand embroidered products. My grandmother taught me to sew when I was four-years-old and I have loved it ever since. I have loved fashion since I was a little girl and I enjoy making clothes and up cycling projects. Bringing new life to something old or used is one of my favorite things to do. Embroidery is something I started learning as a hobby in 2020 and ended up falling in love with. I love mixing elements of embroidery into my sewing projects and love learning new ways of creating with all different kinds of materials. I also enjoy tie dye, something I started doing a few years ago. My favorite things about my job are that I get to do what I love, express myself creatively, and I get to be in business with my mom, who has always served as an inspiration to me!

Im Sarah, mother to the kindest, biggest hearted and most giving two daughters and son. I am gammy to the most precious 4 year old granddaughter and I am co-owner of The Tangled Fiber! I was taught crochet by my grandmother when I was in elementary school and the love for the art was rekindled by an aunt when I was in my early twenties. I have been crocheting for almost 30 years now. I’ve also been making handmade greeting cards for 22 years. I love creating my own unique patterns and designs for both the crochet and the greetings. We hope your time with us is inspiring and enjoyable. We appreciate the opportunity to share our journey with you!
